The Adventurer Club is a children's ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is very similiar to the scouts. The Adventurer program was created to assist parents in their very important responsibility as the child's primary teacher and evangelizers. The program aims to strengthen the paren/child relationship and to further the child's development in physical, mental, social, and spiritual areas. The Adventurer Club provides fun and creative ways for children to develop a Christ-like characer; to experienced the joy and satisvation of doing thngs well; and to express their love for Jesus in a natural way. They will learn good sportsmanship and strengthen their ability to get along with others. They will discover their God-given abilities and learn how to use them to beneift themselves and serve others. They will also learn to improve their understanding of what makes families strong.
I have worked with the Forever Friends Adventurers Club for eight of the last ten years. I have held every position there is except Director. This year I am working as the Busy Bees teacher. By the end of the year, my students will have learned the Adventurer Pledge and Law; earned at least six awards; made many crafts; and developed a closer relationship with their own families, their church family, and with Jesus. We meet twice a month -- once on Sabbath afternoon and once on Sunday morning.
